Restaurants
There are too many to list and I haven’t tried them all, so here are just one man’s dynamic dozen, in no particular order.

North Fork Table & Inn
This is the best place around, as good as most any place in the city, so make a reservation. And save room for phenomenal desserts. |
Love Lane Kitchen
A
fantastic addition to the North Fork food scene. I visit it for
everything from lunch with the kids to dinner with the wife to a quick
cup of coffee (they roast their own beans). I haven't made it for
breakfast yet, but a local paper voted it best on the North Fork. An
eclectic menu with something for everyone. If you go for dinner and
want wine, you'll have to bring it yourself (which isn't much of a
problem out here).
Frisky Oyster – Greenport
Consistently good food and nice atmosphere.
Legends New Suffolk
You can enjoy a quiet meal in the dining room or eat in the bar with the family or while watching the game. Kid friendly.
Front Street Station
Greenport 477-8724
Conveniently located in the village, Front Street offers casual, friendly dining focused on steaks, seafood and sandwiches. Very family friendly—strollers and boisterous children welcome.
The Old Barge
Southold 765-4700
Family friendly seafood restaurant located on the water with a view of Peconic Bay.
Jedediah Hawkins Inn & Restaurant
Located in a beautifully restored 19th century Victorian mansion in Jamesport, this 2006 arrival features seasonal menus with local ingredients and a fine local wine list. Lunch on the porch overlooking the extensive gardens is a treat.
Jamesport Manor Inn
Menu in the New American genre, focusing on the quality of the ingredients, with an effort to incorporate the local seafood, duck and produce whenever possible. The chef trained under Starr Boggs, who is well known in these parts and has a background in organic and holistic cooking.
Bayview Inn & Restaurant
South Jamesport 722-2659
A charming building just steps from Peconic Bay, Bayview offers something for everyone, with fresh local ingredients and wine in the dining room, al fresco dining on the porch, and a pub menu in the bar.
Michelangelo’s
Mattituck 298-4100 and Cutchogue 298-0230.
Great for slices for lunch, takeout for dinner, or eating in the dining room before the movies. I’m seriously addicted to their grandma pies. Kid friendly.
Hellenic Snack Bar
East Marion 477-0138.
Excellent Greek food that won’t break the bank. My staple is the gyro sandwich and by no means should you miss the lemonade. Kid friendly.
Seafood Barge
Southold 765-3010
Like the name suggests, a fine selection of seafood.
